BCIA Awards 2016

Last week we attended the BCIA Awards at The Hilton Birmingham Metropole. We were nominated for 3 awards and won Best Service & Maintenance Provider for our work on Liverpool John Moore’s University. We have worked in close partnership with the university for 25 years providing a fully-flexible service and support package. Our engineers continually fine-tune the BMS system to provide improved control and carbon reduction and we are delighted to have been recognised for this work.

We were also nominated in the Technical Innovation of the Year – Projects category for our work on this project. Project Managed by Chris Thorpe we supplied, installed and commissioned a control system to the renovated James Parsons building at the University. This building is part of the Science. Technology, Engineering and Mathematics department and so contained many sensitive lab areas where internal conditions need to be carefully controlled. The BMS system we installed is tailored to the requirements of this building and gives the client control of energy and the ability to easily spot system faults.

Our final nomination was for Matthew Price who was nominated as Engineer of the Year. He started working for Impact after completing his A Levels and has since completed a HNC Apprenticeship as well as further training in systems engineering on various products. Matty is a reliable, responsible and hard-working engineer and is a valued member of our team.

We would like to say a final well done to all nominees and winners from the night and a big well done to all here at Impact for all their hard work on not only these projects but all throughout 2015/2016.
